Improve access to (quality) education, bridge schooling, and youth employment

  • Conducting Baseline surveys.
  • Setting up bridge course modules and resource rooms, and involving educational volunteers.
  • Community mobilization and sensitization through (child-led) campaigns, support to claim legal entitlements.
  • Support youth with training (empowerment, vocational, entrepreneurship, career counseling).
  • Training of teachers on quality education.
  • Capacity building of community based organisations.
  • Conducting a study and trainings on alternative livelihood options and on home based work

 

Enforce relevant child-rights based laws and implement policies

  • Capacity building of government officials.
  • Platform of children’s groups to interact with policy makers and government official.
  • Facilitate the formation of Child Protection Committees
  • Lobby and advocacy on area based approach, Right to Education Act and Child Labour Act, Responsible business conduct and changes in curricula for teachers training institute.

 

Prevent and address child labour in supply chains

  • Lobby and advocacy towards local businesses on Responsible Business Conduct, Child Rights and Business Principles and UN Guiding Principles.
  • Create business cases on Responsible Business Conduct.
  • Supply chain mapping in different sectors and research on child labour in garment sector.
  • Contract relevant international buyers to create awareness and link them to the programme.
