Main activities

Improve access to (quality) education, bridge schooling, and youth employment

  • Facilitate access of vulnerable families/parents to training programmes and income generation and livelihood improvement programmes.
  • Support existing occupational groups to develop viable business plans and strengthening market linkage to enhance the sustainable livelihoods in Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Provide intervention services for rehabilitation and reintegration, social and child protection services and welfare schemes.
  • Document bottlenecks and challenges in obtaining birth certificates and temporary household registration for migrant children in Ho Chi Minh and the impact on children.
  • Provide training on child centered professional teacher meeting, positive discipline in everyday teaching and child’s rights for teachers.
  • Support to build and apply a child-friendly learning school.

 

Enforce relevant child-rights based laws and implement policies

  • Support the development of legal provisions on child labourers and the worst forms of child labour to be better aligned with international child labour law standards.
  • Develop training for law enforcement and judicial officials on gender and child-sensitive investigation, prosecution and adjudication.
  • Strengthening the legal and policy framework on child social security services.
  • Support the government in finalizing and implementing the roadmap to address child labour.
  • Provide technical assistance to the government to develop and train labour inspectors.
  • Training sessions for governements on Obligations on Corporate Social Responsibility.

 

Prevent and address child labour in supply chains

  • Training of trainers (public, private, NGOs) on Child Rights and Business.
  • Group training sessions for enterprises and their suppliers  in manufacturing (with focus on footwear and apparel).
  • Awareness Raising to promote good practices and lessons learned.
  • Workshop for organisations managing small-to-medium enterprise and overseeing small-to-medium enterprise’s operations.
  • Consultation workshops/meeting consultations with selected businesses in children’s rights and sustainable development with a focus on children’s rights in the workplace.
  • Awareness raising campaigns conducted at 5 selected factories aims to promote children’s rights in the workplace.
  • Carry out necessary assessments, training and implementation at the 5 selected factories in order to build capacity for these factories on child labour prevention & remediation.
