About the Alliance

The Work: No Child’s Business Alliance is run by the Save the Children Netherlands, UNICEF Netherlands and the Stop Child Labour Coalition.

Save the Children has extensive knowledge and experience applying a comprehensive child rights based and gender sensitive approach in community programmes, and in its advocacy towards local, national and international governments for the fulfillment of children’s rights. Save the Children works with businesses throughout the supply chain, from multinationals to local enterprises, and co-developed and promotes the Children’s Rights and Business Principles.

UNICEF has extensive experience in lobbying, advocating and institutional capacity building with national governments and other duty bearers in the Netherlands and worldwide. In addition, to making children’s rights a priority on corporate responsibility agendas, UNICEF co-developed the Children’s Rights and Business Principles. The CRBP are used to trigger private sector actors to respect and support children’s rights in the workplace.

Stop Child Labour has a strong track record in applying a community-based approach, working with local communities and grassroots organisations to collaboratively address child labour. By doing so, Stop Child Labour enables the creation of Child Labour Free Zones: areas where all stakeholders – children, parents, teachers, employers, community leaders and local authorities – work together to realise children’s right to education and to protection from child labour.

Stop Child Labour is a coalition of Hivos, Arisa, the General Union for Education (Algemene Onderwijsbond), Cordaid, Stichting Kinderpostzegels Nederland, and Mondiaal FNV (Mondiaal FNV is not participating in WNCB).
