Support for schools during COVID pandemic in Vietnam

In Vietnam, the fourth wave of COVID-19 has hardly hit the entire country especially the two WNCB programme areas in Dong Thap and Ho Chi Minh City. The fourth wave lasting from April towards the end of the year has exacerbated the existing vulnerabilities of children and families especially the migrants – the economic and social disparity, prolonged school closure and digital divide will potentially place many more children at risk of lagging behind academically and subsequent dropout.

WNCB has provided support to the local governments and schools to conduct assessment of children most affected, provide support and refer them to different programmes to access online education, including provision of digital device, schooling utensils and other educational support to help keep these children in schools.
