World Day Against Child Labour

This year’s World Day Against Child Labour has been celebrated with many events and activities in the WNCB partner countries. See below some examples.

Côte d’Ivoire

In Côte d’Ivoire different activities were organised in the communities, and at national level a high level meeting with ministries took place. The U-Report Youth conducted a survey amongst 27.000 young people in the country about their opinions on child labour.

Jordan

In Jordan a national high level panel with ministries and WNCB partners on child labour took place. At the event, the Child Labour Task Forces launched nationwide activities.

Around the 12th of June, children in different areas are receiving psychosocial support and enjoying fun activities organized by Jordan WNCB partner Rowad Al Khair and that raise awareness about the harm of child labour.

 

India

WNCB partners in India organised activities and events, both in the communities and at national level:

Mali

WNCB partners in Mali organised a range of activities: round tables, media attention, and awareness raising activities.

Uganda

The Minister of Local Government, the Minister of State for Youth and Children, and the Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations were visiting the WNCB activities and exhibition.

  

Vietnam

On this day, UNICEF Vietnam, ILO and MOLISA co-organised an advocacy workshop to call for greater efforts, including social protection strengthening, for child labour prevention and elimination. Also, WNCB partners conducted a mini campaign on social media, targeting parents and adolescents in rural areas.
